European Flax-Linen supporting emerging designers and textile innovation
For the 41st edition of the Hyères Festival – Fashion, Photography, Accessories, the Alliance for European Flax-Linen & Hemp reaffirms its commitment to emerging fashion talent. This year, five of the ten finalists in the Fashion competition, chaired by Chemena Kamali, Creative Director of Chloé, choose to incorporate European Flax-Linen into their collections, with the support of Alliance member companies.
Brais Albor Rodriguez, Loïs Cousin, Jennifer Milleder, Farnia Salim and Dieter Vlasich Obermann explore the creative and technical potential of Flax-Linen through their distinctive approaches: volumes, embroidery, textures, dyeing, finishes and textile experimentation. Their projects illustrate the diversity of contemporary expressions offered by this natural fibre, from structured silhouettes to more experimental creations.
Through its partnership with the Hyères Festival, the Alliance facilitates emerging designers’ access to materials, textile innovations and the expertise of companies across the European sector. It encourages experimentation with European Flax-Linen certified Masters of FLAX FIBRE™ and/or Masters of LINEN™, while supporting the transmission of expertise to a new generation of designers.
New for 2026, the Alliance also introduces four creative workshops open to the public, developed by Gaëlle Lang Halloo, winner of the City of Hyères Public Prize – Fashion category in 2024. Entitled “Le Fanion Club”, these workshops invite participants to handcraft Flax-Linen necklaces inspired by football club pennants, bringing together fashion, craftsmanship and design.
