How do I label my Masters of LINEN™ products?

The labelling of Masters of LINEN™ certified products is regulated for Masters of LINEN™ certified companies, brands and distributors.

Only Masters of LINEN™ certified products can be labelled as such.

All forms of communication, labelling, use of the logo and any claims relating to the Masters of LINEN™ certification must comply with the Masters of LINEN™ Graphic Charter and be approved by the Alliance prior to publication.

The rules governing the use of the trademark differ for certified companies and for brands, specifiers or retailers..

Labelling my products as a Masters of LINEN™ certified company

Masters of LINEN™ certified companies are authorised to label their certified products (semi-finished and finished), provided that they have:

  1. Completed, signed and returned the Trademark Use Authorisation Agreement (TUAA) to the Alliance. The TUAA becomes effective only upon certification inssuance.
  2. Obtained a Masters of LINEN™ certificate from an accredited certification body.
  3. Downloaded the Masters of LINEN™ marketing tools - including logos and the Graphic Charter - from their Business Space on the Alliance website.
  4. Submitted all communication projects (labels, brochures, website, etc.) to the Alliance for review and approval prior to publication.

Labelling my products as a brand, specifier or distributor:

For a brand, a specifier, or a retailer, the certification requirements for their finished products depend on their value chain. In certain cases, they must be certified under the Masters of LINEN™ Chain of Custody (CoC) standard and undergo to annual audits (see the Certification Process).

Brands/distributors may use the Masters of LINEN™ logo and tools in their communications and marketing, provided that they:

  1. Verified the certification of their suppliers on the directory of certified companies.
  2. Verified on their suppliers’ invoice (see: How to verify that a product is Masters of FLAX FIBRE™ certified?).
  3. Contact the Alliance to obtain all information on certification and provide proof of certification for their products (invoices).
  4. Completed, signed and returned the Trademark Use Authorisation Agreement (TUAA) to Alliance.
  5. Downloaded the Masters of LINEN™ marketing tools – including logos and graphic charter – from their Business Space on the Alliance website.
  6. Submitted all their communication projects (labels, catalogues, website, etc.) to Alliance for verification and validation prior to publication.
  7. Sent the Alliance proof of certification for their products each year (invoices). Confidential information, such as prices, may be concealed.
