European Flax-Linen and Hemp in Brussels for Future Fabrics Expo 2026

June 04, 2026

Following its move from London, Future Fabrics Expo will take place at Brussels Expo alongside Textiles Recycling Expo on 24–25 June 2026. This event is far more than just another textile trade show on the calendar, it brings: sourcing stakeholders seeking certified materials.

For the Alliance, this event provides an opportunity to showcase the creative innovations developed in European Flax and Hemp by its certified companies, while also presenting the full range of services and tools available to brands committed to reducing their environmental footprint: Masters of FLAX FIBRE™ and Masters of LINEN™ certifications, a digital traceability platform, the new European Flax-Linen Environmental Footprint Guide, and much more.

According to its organisers, Future Fabrics Expo 2026 serves as a showcase for sourcing innovative, certified materials developed to address environmental challenges across the fashion, footwear, homeware, interiors and lifestyle sectors. It creates a meeting point where suppliers, brands and specifiers can compare the solutions currently available on the market. An event perfectly aligned with the Alliance’s ambitions.

European flax and hemp are presented as materials originating from value chains deeply rooted in their territories, supported by rigorous production processes and verified guarantees. This new edition of the show will take place alongside Textiles Recycling Expo, further strengthening the dialogue around materials, circularity and compliance.

Through its stand, the Alliance aims to raise awareness among visitors of the versatility and creativity of European flax. Attendees will discover breathable, thermoregulating textiles, as well as apparel and sports and leisure equipment. These products demonstrate European flax’s ability to meet demanding requirements in terms of comfort, technical performance and functionality. This applies not only to textiles, but also to flax-based composites and products marketed by international brands incorporating the fibre into sports, mobility, interior architecture and design applications.

This visibility provides the Alliance with an opportunity to inform visitors about the origin of Western European flax fibre, its cultivation, processing and traceability. It is also an opportunity to deliver practical answers to the challenges faced by brands and procurement teams.

Certifications, Traceability and Practical Tools

To further support textile markets, the Alliance relies on its two certifications: Masters of FLAX FIBRE™ and Masters of LINEN™.
In addition to these certification standards, the Alliance offers brands an optional digital traceability platform designed to provide enhanced monitoring, verification and compliance capabilities: the Flax-Linen Traceability Platform.
This tool enables material flows to be tracked across the entire value chain, from flax fibre through to finished products.

Two speaking engagements to better understand Technical Innovation and European Flax Traceability

The Alliance will also participate in two events on Wednesday 24 June 2026:

  • 9:45 a.m. - Marie Demaegdt, Textile & Sustainability Manager, will take part in a panel discussion titled "Harnessing nature to inform new fibre technologies", on technical innovations and new uses for natural fibres alongside three other panellists:

    - Sarah Angold, Founder and CEO of 29acacia
    - Amanda Turner, Chief Product Officer at PLNTmatter
    - Premal Gadhia, Co-founder and Chief Product Officer at Fibe

The panel will be moderated by Amy Tsang, Head of Europe at The Mills Fabrica.
  • 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. - The Alliance will participate in an event organised by TextileGenesis on the practical implementation of textile traceability.
The event will bring together sustainability leaders, supply chain and compliance managers, and procurement professionals from major fashion brands to discuss traceability, regulatory requirements and the Digital Product Passport.

Julie Pariset, Innovation & CSR Director, will explain the rationale behind the implementation of the European Flax digital traceability platform, while the White Company will share the impact this solution has had on its corporate strategy.
