A designer and filmmaker, Florian Meca has made flax-linen one of the development axes of his work in eco-design. With his creations — the Pilea lamps and the Noailles armchair, designed with Tectona — he demonstrates that this locally sourced natural fibre combines lightness, strength and a low environmental footprint.

Pilea: a linen lamp inspired by nature

The Pilea lamp, made by hand, take its inspiration from the organic, rounded forms of the plant from which it take its name.

Manufactured from locally sourced flax-linen fibre, they provide lighting that is both soft and warm. These lighting is a concrete example of sustainable interior design and the valorisation of a durable material.

The Noailles armchair: outdoor furniture in composite flax-linen

Winner of the Hyères - Design Parade competition, Florian Meca illustrates with the Noailles armchair the benefits of eco-responsible outdoor furniture made from composite flax-linen.
